Caring for your embroidery
Embroidery is a delicate material. A few simple habits dramatically extend the life of the piece.
Washing
- Turn the garment inside out before washing.
- Machine wash at 30 °C max, gentle cycle.
- Use a mild detergent, no bleach or whitening agents.
- Avoid washing too often — air the piece between wears.
Drying
- Air dry, ideally flat.
- No tumble dryer: heat warps embroidery threads.
- Avoid direct sunlight to preserve the colours.
Ironing
- Iron inside out, on a medium setting.
- Never place the iron directly on the stitched threads.
- Use a press cloth if needed.
Storage
- Fold rather than hang heavily embroidered pieces (sweats, hoodies).
- Keep away from humidity and direct light.
